Ex-situ

Ex-situ treatment concerns the excavation and treatment of the contaminated material via a stockpile to stockpile approach. Redistribution of treated material is enabled through the utilisation of Best Practise Methodologies to ensure the cost effectiveness of the process is tailored to suit all specific project aims and objectives.

Use of such processes also allows for the batching of materials in terms of reuse requirements, thereby effectively implementing a positive programme of works.

For ex-situ mass treatment, the E-clay® formula is comprised of modified clays incorporating reactive chemicals designed to immobilise the identified contaminants within the ground.

Once incarcerated within the E-clay® matrix, pollutants are chemically immobilised within the clay structure, with subsequent solidification rendering the contaminates inaccessible to groundwater.
