Envirotreat working with Hallams of Leicester complete the remediation of the former gas works in Stamford in Lincolnshire

Envirotreat working with Hallams of Leicester have completed the remediation of the former gas works in Stamford in Lincolnshire, to enable a residential development. The council part of the site was remediated many years ago leaving the remaining part of the gas works un-remediated. Envirotreat working closely with the council and the local Environment Agency developed a remediation strategy which satisfied all parties involved. The remediation strategy involved the E-Clay stabilisation of grossly impacted soils remaining on-site associated with the former gas holder, gas purifier and other redundant structures. Envirotreat were able to demonstrate the effectiveness of the remediation by undertaking leachability analysis of the treated soils and with the installation and monitoring of groundwater monitoring wells following remediation.
