Working with Chase, Envirotreat designed and implemented a remediation strategy to enable the development of a new supermarket in Birmingham. Envirotreat developed a suitable remediation strategy (in conjunction with Ground Investigation and Piling) to satisfy the requirements of the Birmingham City Council and the Environment Agency. The site was impacted with TPH contamination associated with the former usage of the site as a maintenance yard and a depot. Envirotreat undertook all aspects of the remediation works including removal of tanks, validation of excavations, excavation of contaminated soils, E-Clay stabilisation of hydrocarbon impacted soils & encountered groundwater and re-emplacement on site following successful validation. In addition Envirotreat designed and installed an E-Clay soil mixed permeable reactive barrier to treat residual hydrocarbon contamination in groundwaters.
