Working with Mansell Construction, Envirotreat developed and implemented a remediation strategy enabling the residential development of a contaminated site in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The remediation strategy was designed to satisfy the requirements of the Council / Planners, the NHBC and the Environment Agency. Envirotreat undertook all aspects of the remediation works including validation of excavations (following excavation of contaminated soils) to confirm effective removal of identified contaminated soils within the site and the treatment of hydrocarbon impacted soils and associated groundwater by E-Clay stabilisation prior to re-emplacement on site. In addition Envirotreat installed an E-Clay soil mixed permeable reactive barrier to mitigate risks to off-site groundwater / surface water receptors.
