Envirotreat Technologies Ltd was commissioned by Jones Brothers Henllan Ltd to design and implement a remediation strategy to treat contaminated materials in the base of a former bitumen storage tank at the Greenergy Fuel Distribution facility in Plymouth. Envirotreat were able to provide a sustainable E-Clay Stabilisation solution as a cost-effective alternative to offsite disposal at Swindon. The task was complicated by the presence of asbestos containing material within the waste and the close proximity of key sensitive receptors (River Plym and South West Coastal Pathway). Envirotreat obtained regulatory approval from both the local authority and the Environment Agency to treat and reuse the material onsite.
