Envirotreat Technologies Ltd was commissioned by Speller Metcalfe to undertake remediation of identified hydrocarbon contaminated soils at a site in Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire. The contamination was associated with the provision of former heating and engineering facilities on the site (the former Stratford Hospital). The objective was to treat the contaminated materials for reuse on-site (as part of the overall redevelopment of the site).
Envirotreat carried out trial pitting to delineate the extent of the hydrocarbon contamination – the contamination comprised of a single ‘hot-spot’ circa 500m3 in volume. The contaminated soils and associated groundwater were treated in-situ utilising E-Clay Stabilisation – the treated soils were reused on site. The works were completed within one week.
