Envirotreat Technologies Ltd was commissioned by Tame Construction to design and implement a remediation strategy to address the identified contamination issues on the site in Coleshill, Warwickshire. The identified contamination was predominantly hydrocarbon in nature (total petroleum hydrocarbons) – both soil and groundwater were heavily impacted. The objective was to remediate the site to enable redevelopment for commercial end use.
Envirotreat implemented an integrated remediation strategy on the site comprising of source (‘hot-spot’ treatment) by E-Clay Stabilisation (circa 500m3) combined with pathway (groundwater) treatment by the installation of a E-Clay Permeable Reactive Barrier (circa 100m in length).
The photograph shows hydrocarbon contamination associated with the groundwater.
