Supplementary Site Investigation, King’s Lynn, Norfolk

Envirotreat Technologies Ltd was commissioned by Chalcroft Construction to progress further site investigation and develop a Remediation Strategy for Regulatory approval for the development of a Brownfield site in North Norfolk.

The site was blighted by contaminated stockpiles, some containing visible asbestos containing materials. The underlying ground was contaminated with pervasive visible asbestos containing materials. Part of the site was in addition once used as a petrol filling station.

Envirotreat commissioned TerraDat to undertake a non-destructive ground survey to assess for the presence of below ground structures. Based on the TerraDat findings, Envirotreat undertook a series of trial pit excavations to validate these findings and assess the extent of potential contamination. In addition, Envirotreat undertook an assessment of the historical stockpiled material and underlying ground.

Envirotreat engaged Leap Environmental to prepare a Material Management Plan and obtain Qualified Person sign off in accordance with the Cl:AIRE Definition of Waste Code of Practice to support our Remediation Strategy for the site.
