Envirotreat attended site following the discovery of an historical underground fuel storage tank and associated contamination during recent archaeological works.
Envirotreat initially undertook a series of trial pit investigation and collected a number of soil and groundwater samples for analysis.
As suspected the analysis indicated gross soils and groundwater contamination local to the former UST position.
Envirotreat further returned to site in February to facilitate the main contractor in the offsite disposal, undertaking a watching brief and delineation of excavations to demonstrate source removal.
