Envirotreat was commissioned to undertake a site remediation at a comprehensive school development at Cefn Saeson, Neath following the discovery of highly elevated hydrocarbon and heavy metal contamination beneath the former school car park.
The works comprised E-Clay stabilisation of hydrocarbon / heavy metal impacted soils for beneficial reuse on site and the protection of groundwater receptors. This sustainable solution mitigated the need for the costly offsite disposal of contaminated soils at landfill.
The works were undertaken under NRW RD073 and recovered under the materials management plan produced by Tetra Tech.
