Manx Heritage engaged Envirotreat to provide consultancy and remediation services following an escape of heating oil at Niarbyl Cafe, Isle of Man. The extent of the spill was noted during drainage refurbishment works. Envirotreat carried out extensive works to delineate the extent of the spill through on site and laboratort testing. This work enabled a robust and effective remediation strategy to implemented to mitigate any future risk of contamination and to enable the ongoing refurbishment work to continue. Envirotreat also provided support during the reinstatement works to assess and classify waste soils to enable legal and appropriate disposal on the island. The cafe itself is expected to re-open in Spring / Summer 2026.
