Envirotreat was commissioned by Speller Metcalfe to undertake a comprehensive ground investigation, based on trial pit excavations of the Moor Lane site, Old Hill to characterise the surplus soils earmarked for off site disposal.
The former open space / landfill was being redeveloped a specialist £16 million residential centre, which will help older people live healthier lives.
The trial pitting was aimed at facilitating the offsite disposal.
Envirotreat attended site and excavated 52No trial pits on a former landfill site to formation levels.
Samples were submitted to I2 Analytical for analysis.
Based on the analysis obtained Envirotreat were able to carry out a detailed assessment of the results in accordance with WM3 to provide the client with cost effective, sustainable off site disposal options.
