Stormwater interceptor tank replacement

Envirotreat was commissioned to remove an existing failed stormwater interceptor tank and associated contaminated soils and replace with a new SPEL oil / water separator.

Envirotreat was employed by the clients environmental consultants who undertook a design and supervisory role throughout the works. Historically the environmental consultants had undertaken comprehensive site investigation works which formed the basis of the tender application. Envirotreat were successful at tender stage based on quality of submission and cost.

The new SPEL oil / water separator was significantly bigger than the existing 3 chamber brick structure and required careful consideration in terms of placement to marry I with existing drainage within the area.
The works involved Temporary Works in the form of temporary sheet piling to avoid groundwater ingress and collapse. The new oil / water separator was craned into position due to size.

The works were reinstated on completion with concrete hardstanding to marry up to the existing ground.

Envirotreat were able to minimise hazardous offsite disposal through comprehensive delineation on excavation based on onsite testing and experience.
